HMD Global has rolled out the April 2019 Android Security Patch for Nokia 5.1 and Nokia 3.1 smartphones. The company is also rolling out the update to Nokia 8 Sirocco and Nokia 6.1 Plus handsets as well. It is important to get the April 2019 Android security patch as it a lot of vulnerabilities in Android 9.0 Pie. Users must update the software of the phones as one of the key vulnerabilities allow cyber attackers to remotely execute codes that might compromise personal information.
The software update is around 100MB in size for both the phones and will be available over-the-air (OTA). Head to the Settings option on your handset to check whether you have received the update or not.
HMD Global recently rolled Android 9.0 Pie update to its Nokia 3.1 smartphone. The Android 9 Pie upgrade will be the second OS update for the Nokia 3.1 – the phone upgraded from Android Nougat to Android Oreo six months back, in September 2018.
With Android Pie, Nokia 3.1 will get features like app actions, adaptive battery and more. Also, there is ‘Digital Wellbeing’ which measures your smartphone usage and gives you insight into your smartphone habits. The Android 9 Pie update also brings with it the new include Slices function, which identifies relevant information of favourite apps to make them easier to access. Additionally, Adaptive Brightness automatically alters your phone light settings by learning from user interactions.
HMD Global has started to roll out Android 9.0 Pie update for the Nokia 5.1 Plus smartphone. The Nokia 5.1 Plus smartphone went on sale for the first time in October this year with Android 8.1 Oreo operating system out-of-the-box. In December, the company had rolled out Android Pie update for the device.
